PATHING

Old and new, you and me, what has been, what will be.

"A man outside the dispensary asks me to buy him a vape cart because his driver’s license expired. He said we think falling snow is beautiful because of a deeply buried sense memory from ancient alien ancestors, a parallel for traveling through the star-streaked void of space."

Pathing is the ongoing process of navigating time and space, the trajectories of systems and objects, how culture twists itself up, protein-folding style until it keys into something deep and powerful running parallel to our conscious perceptions.

Pathing is the hand-grenade fragmentation that happens in the seconds, minutes after separating product from packaging: quick binning of clear plastic so thin it’s called blister, branded labeled cardboard backing, some accordion fold instruction and warranty information you’ll never read, a wire tie holding the usb-c cord wrapped tight to itself, an ouroboros spooning.

For the time being we are mostly earth bound, escape velocity is an illusion.

Pathing is easier or harder, enabled or hindered by environment and structure, the difference between climbing an escalator or the icy hills of Duluth.
